WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT   

Many years ago I joined ALA and the South Florida Chapter to increase my knowledge of the industry and to meet fellow administrators. Who would have thought that one day I would be writing the President’s message.

Communication among our organization can be a powerful tool which can make us bigger, stronger and more effective. I would like to invite all members to communicate their ideas, suggestions and any concerns to me, other board members or our committee chairs. We have a great Board of Directors, dedicated committee chairs and interested past presidents who are willing to listen and discuss Chapter and professional issues with you.

This year as President I would like to lead our Chapter into new adventures - perhaps in simple ways such as having breakfast, lunch and reception meetings, providing more local educational seminars, making our Community Challenge Weekend a total member project and increasing member participation at monthly meetings and special events. We need to come together as an organization and by doing so, we can accomplish any goal we desire. Even if that goal is just to get to know one another and provide that support needed in our work environment.

My goal is to meet your expectations, motivate you as a member to become involved in the organization and to have fun in the process. Perhaps you will be writing the President’s Message in the future.

I look forward to working with everyone this year and I thank you in advance for your commitment and participation.
